汉英隐转喻名名复合词语义的认知研究 被引量:32

A Cognitive Perspective to Semantic Interpretation of Metaphtonymic Noun-Noun Compounds in Chinese and English

摘要 本文以汉语和英语中隐转喻名名复合词为研究对象,以Wisniewski的"可排列性差异"、Pustejovsky的"本质结构"、Lakoff的"概念隐喻"、Kovecses的"概念转喻"和Goossens的"隐转喻"为理论基础,旨在讨论喻体名词的概念结构以及概念隐喻和概念转喻对隐转喻名名复合词内部语义结构的解释力。研究表明:1)喻体名词概念结构的可排列性和本质结构特点是隐转喻名名复合词语义内涵丰富性的根源。2)概念隐喻和概念转喻以及二者的互动是创造和理解隐转喻名名复合词丰富语义的认知机制。本体和喻体的排列顺序影响隐转喻名名复合词的语义结构,前喻式和后喻式名名复合词在喻体的概念结构以及概念隐喻和概念转喻的类型方面均存在差异。3)在具有诸多共性的基础上,汉语名名复合词比英语的构词能力更强。 On the basis of Wisniewski' s "alignable difference", Pustejovsky' s "qualia structure", Lakoff' s "conceptual metaphor", Kovecses' s "conceptual metonymy" and Goossens's "metaphtonymy", the paper focuses on metaphtonymic noun-noun compounds in Chinese and English to account for their internal semantic structures. The study shows that ( 1 ) the alignability of the conceptual structures and the qualia structure of the vehicle nouns are the underlying motivation for the semantic productivity of these noun-noun compounds;(2 )conceptual metaphor, conceptual metonymy, and metaphtonymy are the cognitive mechanisms governing the creation and comprehension of these compounds ; ( 3 ) the order of two nouns in a metaphtonymic noun-noun compound influences the semantic structure of the compound, the conceptual structure and the types of conceptual metaphor and metonymy involved.
