历史语料与现实语料的对比表明,在二十世纪二十年代,广州话的反复问句开始从早期句式转变为现代句式。这种类型的转变造成现代广州话里早期句式与现代句式共存的局面。而实地调查数据显示,早期句式的使用频率极低,其最终趋势会逐渐消失。

To contrast the historical language materials with the present language materials, it shows that the tag-questions in Cantonese began to transform from the early sentence patterns to the modern sentence patterns in the 1920s. As the result of this transformation that the early sentence patterns and the modern sentence patterns exist together in modern Cantonese. The data of the field investigation shows that the usage of the early sentence patterns is very infrequent and the tendency is that it will disappear in the future.
