The present study investigated how children compare object collections with more than one unit. 36 children aged from 5 to 6 participated in this study. We used computer to present the questions and record children' s answer and response time. The results were as follows: ( 1 ) Children could hardly compare multi-units quantities until 6 year old ; ( 2 ) Children compared the superior units rather than counted the sum of single units when they compared two collections with more than one unit. (3) Children' s performanee was similar in tasks with carry rules based on ten and based on eight
