The Variety of Literary Image

本文从语言的意象性出发,探讨意象在中、英、诗词翻译中的重要性。由哲学、语言学角度入手,分析其在中、英文化中的普遍性,以期对翻译教学有所启示。

In this paper, an attempt is made to explore the importance of image in English--Chinese poem translation from the perspective of imagery of language. It is argued that,as a pragmatic phenomenon, analysis of the popularity of image both in English and Chinese can provide insight into the mechanisms of image at philosophy and linguistic levels and bring much enlightenment for translation teaching practice.
