曾(随)以武立国,是春秋早期楚国的强劲对手。曾侯乙墓出土兵器4 777件,随葬简册记载有大量的兵车,彰显出曾(随)作为汉东大国的军事实力。

Depending on its military might, Zeng State is a powerful adversary for Chu State in the early period of Chunqiu. Weapons founded in the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng add up to 4 777. Large quantity of chariots was recorded in the funeral bamboo slips. All these indicate that Zeng State is a large and strong state to the east of Han river.
