It is well- known that there are plenty of Figurative Compounds in English. We can get many enlightenments through the study of figurative compounds.This paper shows the different aspects, such as the figurative compounds＇ production ways, parts of speech, simile and metaphor, and so on, so as to have a further cognitive understanding of the English figurative compounds.
