A Tentative Survey on the Aesthetics of Modern Traffic

交通是由人类行动本能演化而来的、为满足自身生活和发展需要而进行的实现人、物、信息空间位置转换的社会活动。现代交通美学就是一门分析研究人们交通活动中的审美规律,指导人们正确按照"美的规律"构建现代交通理念、设计现代交通工具、规划现代交通网络、营造现代交通景观、提高现代交通效能的一门新兴交叉学科。深入研究现代交通美学,有效运用现代交通美学研究成果,是坚持用科学发展观引导交通事业健康发展的客观需要。

Traffic and transportation is a social activity evolved from human being＇ instinctive behavior and his desire to satisfy his needs for daily life and development in the actualization of space shifts of people, goods and information. The aesthetics of modern traffic is a newly-arisen trans-disciplinary field which studies the aesthetic principles in our transportation activities, under the guidance of which we construct our contemporary transportation concepts, design traffic tools, plan traffic networks, build traffic-related sceneries, and enhance the traffic efficiency. Therefore, it is an utmost necessity to study the modern traffic aesthetics and make use of the respective research results so as to achieve a healthy development of the traffic enterprise in China in the vision of scientific development.
