The design and implementation of graphics engine for Standard Definition Television （SDTV） Set-top Box （STB） are introduced. The realization of static image mixer especially the design of the buffer is emphatically analyzed. The proposed graphics engine can provide powerful support for graphics processing of STB and DVD decoder system.
