Most of the Tunpu ( the village fortress) people from the central area of Guizhou province point "Shihui Alley, Nanjing (Yingtian Fu)" as their ancestral home and "Shihui Alley" can be seen in family trees from all provinces. However, after an investigation on the placenames in Nanjing province since Ming Dynasty, it' s discovered that the placename of "Shihui Alley" only appeared after Qing Dynasty. Comparing with the opinion of "GaoShiKan, Liushu Bay, Nanjing" from Yunnan migrants, we believe that in order to eulogize the glorious mission of "moving the northern troops to conquer the south" of their ancestors, the descendants of Tunpu people subconsciously change the "inferior origin" known as "moving the northern civilians to exploit? of? virgin? land in south" and exile. "The troops from northern to conquer the south" has been recognized as the common origin and this identity has strengthened Tunpu people' s worship to their ancestors. Naturally, "Shihui Alley, Nanjing ( Yingtian Fu)" in the capital city has become the common hometown of Tunpu people when it' s more like a spiritual homeland created by words.
