On Fuzzy Language and its Characteristics

模糊语和精确语一样,在人类交流活动中起着同等重要的作用。模糊语正被越来越多的语言使用者关注并接受。用语的"模糊"与"清楚"实际上是"泛指"与"特指"的关系,二者不可偏废,各有利弊。模糊语的三大特征(即互模性、相对性、等级性)为语言研究理论开创了新的视角,为司空见惯的语言现象提供了理论依据。

Both fuzzy and accurate languages are equally important in human communication. Fuzzy language is increasingly noticed and accepted by language users. The ＂fuzziness＂ and ＂accuracy＂ of language use is actually ＂ generalization＂ versus ＂specialization＂, both of which have strength and weakness and are worthy of due attention. The three features of fuzzy language （mutual, relative and hierarchical） offer a new perspective for language research theories and theoretical foundations for routine linguistic phenomenon.
