2月22日下午2点，世界指挥巨匠洛林·马泽尔出现在上海大剧院舞台上，他指挥排练的，是由上海大同中学、天山中学等8所学校组成的180人的中学生交响乐团。在这个由上海大剧院举行的首个艺术开放日——交响开放口活动中，马泽尔用1个多小时排练了约翰·施特劳斯的《蝙蝠序曲》和《卡门序曲》，引起了满场青少年观众的极大兴趣。
OUTLINE / Currently music director of the New York Philharmonic,formerly music director of the Cleveland Orchestra and Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra, Lorin Maazel has been a fixture on the American concert scene for so long that we are apt to forget his lifelong devotion to opera. In January this yean after a hiatus of 44 years, the Metropolitan Opera won him back for a revival of Wagner＇s Die Walkiire ＂I happen to be a theatre fan,＂ Maazel said, ＂I love the theatre - the professional theatre. I love music .So opera is the ideal fusion of the two.I＇m extremely happy in the orchestra pit,psychologically as well as artistically and emotionally.Everything that goes with opera doesn＇t worry me.＂
