摘要
从认知语言学的角度出发,分析了英语动物词汇的隐喻认知意义,总结归纳出动物隐喻的三种基本形式:名词隐喻、动词隐喻和名词转动词隐喻,说明了隐喻来自于人们对世界的认知方式,隐喻是一种人类思维现象,一种行为方式,一种描述、理解和解释新事物的有利工具。
Starting from the cognitive characteristic of metaphors,this paper attempts at an analysis of conceptual metaphors of English animal terms and classifies three types of animal metaphors：NP metaphors and NP-VP metaphors.This analysis further shows that metaphors reflects the cognitive process of mankind and is basically a cognitive phenomenor,a way of behavior,a useful instrument to describe,understand and interpret new things.
