20世纪伟大的现代主义作家劳伦斯一生都崇尚自然、憎恶文明,主张人应当按人的本性、自然状态无拘无束地生活。试从自我、社会、自然三个角度入手,着力探讨劳伦斯在其不同时期的作品中所表现出的人性这一主题,试图籍此寻觅出劳伦斯对人性的探索之路。

D.H. Lawrence is a great modernist writer in 20^th century who admires nature and detests civilization in his whole span of life. He insists that one should live without any limits. This thesis will focus upon the subject of human nature in Lawrence＇ s different periods of works in respects of self, society and nature, thus trying to illuminate his exploratin of human nature.
