Objective To investigate the effects of local vibration on serum monoamine neuro-transmitters and the correlation with vibration-induced neural impairment. Methods Rabbits were divided into 4 groups at random. One was the control group and the other three groups EA group with the ahw (4) 3.03 m/s^2, B group with the ahw (4) 6.13 m/s^2 , C group with the ahw (4) 12.25 m/s^2] were tested at different levels of low, medium and high vibration power. Serum monoamine neuro-transmitters were measured in each group. Results With the increase of vibration power, the concentration of serum noradrenalin (NE), 5- serotonin (5-HT) and dopamine (DA) had a tendency to significantly increase. Conclusions The local vibration may cause the changes of serum monoamine neuro-transmitters. The changes are related to vibration-induced neural impairment.
