Tibetan Society in the Islamic Cultural View——Tibetan Chronicle in Arabic and Persian Documents during 8th to 16th century

本文分析了公元8-16世纪西方传教士进入吐蕃之前,阿拉伯、波斯文献关于吐蕃人文社会的各种记载。这一时期记载吐蕃的阿拉伯、波斯文献有十余种之多,这些文献的作者均有伊斯兰文化背景,但其中到过吐蕃的仅为少数。根据考证,这些文献关于吐蕃人文社会的描述大部分可信,但仍有部分误传或误记的地方,反映了伊斯兰文化与吐蕃文化的相互交流与影响。

This paper analyzed various records about Tibet(Tubo)in Arabic and Persian Documents during the 8th to 16th century, before which the western missionaries had stepped into Tibet. The descriptions of the Documents about the Tibetan society are more creditable than that about the religious culture, reflecting the communications and contradictions between the two cultures of Islam and Tibet.
