The paper briefly introduces biomass utilization in the world, according to the concrete situation of the specific countries. Several important indexes are proposed to evaluate biomass utilization, one of them is the ＂Greenness＂ based on total life cycle analysis. Further, the philosophy of rational utilization of renewable energy is： ＂put the right energy on the right place＂. Finally, the harmony between Mankind and Nature is the highest principle.
