拒绝言语行为分直接式和间接式两种。由于直接拒绝言语行为极易伤害交际双方的感情,影响人们的交流与合作,因此在现实生活中,大多数人会选择间接拒绝言语行为。在"拒绝"策略的选择方面,无论是西方人的直率,还是东方人的迂回、含蓄,都是为了增进交际双方的理解和友谊,促进交际的顺畅进行。

The article makes some researches on the strategies of refusal （ especially indirect refusal ） in interpersonal communication from the point of view of pragmatics in Chinese and western cultures. The proper choices of refusal strategies can help better bridge the intercultural communication in different cultures.
