摘要
The study investigated the university students' attitudes towards the coexistence of the standard discourse and the emergent discourses through a questionnaire. 223 sophomores in Xinjiang Normal University participated in the survey. The results show that these students tend to accept the emergent discourses in terms of their new vocabulary words, such as "yumi". Although the standard discourse dominates the students' life, the emergent discourses are accepted and used by these students. With regard to the view to purify the Chinese language, human concern and tolerance for the coexistence of various discourses are suggested.
