Oakeshott is one of the most important conservative philosophers in 20th century. He reinterpreted the conception of political authority in his particular way. He regarded this concept as one of ways of intemal life of Civil Association rather than external force, which constituted a harmony between political authority and freedom. As it is, he set up a new path to contemporary political philosophy and exerted deep influence on reality.
