代谢综合征患者具有较高的心脑血管疾病发生率,胰岛素抵抗是代谢综合征重要的病理生理改变。代谢综合征患者血管内皮损伤、动脉僵硬度增高以及早期动脉粥样硬化以及动脉粥样硬化性疾病的发生率增加。现对代谢综合征的定义、流行病学及其与各个阶段血管病变的关系进行综述。

Metabolic syndrome is associated with increased risk of development of cardiovascular disease. Insulin resistance is thought to indicate common underlying factors of the syndrome. The clinical relevance of metabolic syndrome is related to its role in the development of vascular disease, including endothelium impair, an increase in arterial stiffness and intima-media thickness. This article discusses this syndrome ： its definition, epidemiology, and clinical relevance.
