A STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF SEMANTIC THEORIES ON TRANSLATION

语义学是语言学的一个分支,主要研究词语意义。翻译是两种语言间的转换,而不是词语的代替。由于语言承载着历史、文化、艺术、风俗、生活习惯以及社会发展所带来的差异,因此,在语言互译时,运用语义理论指导翻译实践,能使译者更准确地理解原文,将原文的意义、风格更好地再现于译入语。

Semantics, a branch of linguistics, mainly studies the meaning of words.Translation is an exchange between two languages rather than a substitute .Because there are differences in art, cultures,history custom between two languages,the application of semantic theories to translating can make translators comprehend the original more correctly and convey the real meaning and style better in the target language.
