从人物的存在方式及人物关系等角度研究书信体小说人物的叙事类型,可以发现书信体小说人物具有自造性和他造性的存在特征,由此形成自造性人物和他造性人物。其人物关系体现为多重交流模式。在书信体小说中,人物作者与人物读者之间的交流是反馈式的。通常,每一封有明确指向的发信都会有相应的复信,由此形成双向交流。在交流中出现的善意误读与恶意曲解会对小说人物的性格塑造和情节建构产生影响。

The existential characteristics of characters self-created or other-created could be found in the epistolary novels with the study of the narrative type concerning the existential pattern of characters and their relationship. This discovery leads to the emergence of self-created character and other-created one. The relationship embodies in a multiple exchange pattern. In epistolary novel, the exchange between author and reader follows the feedback pattern. Usually, each letter with definite destination will have a corresponding reply, forming a two-directional exchange. A kindly misinterpretation and evll misunderstanding in the exchange will influence the characterization and construction of the plot.
