On May 13, 2008, when watching TV at home, Liu Zhongming and several villagers of Ju County, Shandong were shocked by the news of Sichuan earthquake. So they instantly took out the map and measured the distance between ju County and Chengdu, Sichuan with a red string. After discussion, they decided to go to at once to Sichuan to save the people injured by the earthquake.
