再谈西方当代文体学流派的区分

Further reflections on the classification of different stylistic approaches

如何区分西方当代文体学流派,是一个貌似简单实际上非常复杂的事情。本文进一步探讨以下几个问题:(1)在同一著述中,是否应该采用同一区分标准?(2)如何区分语言学文体学和文学文体学?(3)文体学流派是否应分为两个不同层次?本文旨在通过梳理,更好地认识各种区分标准及其短长,看清文体学研究的性质、特点和发展变化。

How to classify different stylistic approaches is an issue that is much more complicated than it first appears. In view of recent critical debates, the present study offers a further discussion of the issue. The discussion focuses on the following questions: (1) whether one consistent criterion should be adopted in one classification; (2) how to distinguish linguistic stylistics and literary stylistics; (3) whether a classification should be carried out on two different levels. Through answering these questions and clearing up relevant confusions, we may gain a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the criteria concerned, and, more importantly, gain a clearer view both of the field in general and of some stylistic approaches in particular.
