关于《星期天早晨》一诗,评论家向来评论最多的是其宗教主题,却往往忽视了诗歌中丰富多彩的意象。为探讨和再现诗歌中的意象,文章从意象的感受性、矛盾性以及象征性等三方面入手,分析诗人如何通过这些意象使全诗达到"情感统一"、体现诗歌"张力"以及表达作者耽乐的尘世宗教思想。

As regards Sunday Morning, critics have tended to concern with its religious theme, but not dealt properly with what Morton Zabel called ＂the richness of the poem＇s imagery＂. So it is the main task of this paper to discuss and reveal these vivid images. We start, for the sake of argument, from three aspects of the imagery： sensuality, contradiction, and symbolism, and show how the poet used these images in the poem to realize ＂unification of sensibility＂,embody ＂tension＂, and express a secular religious faith.
