摘要
首先探讨了主位推进方式在学术话语中的语篇作用:一是T1→T2方式为横向的、平面的,具有单一话题释义、定义等功能;二是R1→T2方式为纵向的、立体的,具有多重话题的阐述功能。然后通过英语专业本科生毕业论文的抽样统计,发现学生过度使用T1→T2的主位推进方式。最后从语篇衔接方式角度,找出其文章单调的原因。
The paper first discusses the textual functions the thematic progression performs in academic discourse in which pattern A is both horizontal and two dimensional and performs such functions as paraphrasing and defining the single topic, while pattern B is both vertical and three dimensional and performs such functions as expounding multiple topics. Secondly, by the sample statistics of the thesis of the English major graduates, it finds out that they overuse the thematic progression of pattern A. Finally, it seeks the cause of dull thesis from the angle of textual link.
