西方世界对《文心雕龙》的了解,可以追溯到19世纪,但真正的翻译却不过半个世纪的历史。从1951至2003年的52年间,出现了七种英译本,成为中国文论英译史上一道独特而灿烂的风景。《文心雕龙》在英语世界的传播促进了中国古代文论在西方的传播与接受,对于推动中外学界关于《文心雕龙》研究的交流与合作具有重要意义。

The west world＇s knowledge of wenxin diaolong dates back to the 19th century, but the English translation of it has come into being for no more than half a century. Seven versions emerged from 1951 to 2003, which made it a spectacular phenomenon. The spreading of wenxin diaolong in the English world facilitates the acceptance of ancient Chinese literary theories and is of great importance to promoting the communication and cooperation in the study of wenxin diaolong between Chinese and foreign academic circles.
