Prospect for river closure of TGP

经过４年多的施工准备，三峡工程将于今年年底实行截流，与截流有关的工程项目包括导流工程，临时船闸及升船机工程、下游引航道工程、导流明渠和临时船闸上、下游连接河段航道整治工程。对所有这些工程的进展情况进行了总结，对三峡工程大江截流和二期导流围堰的施工计划进行了简要介绍。

New construction progress and preparatory work(before late April 1997) for the main rivers closure at Three Gorges Project are presented in this paper. After 4 odd years of construction preparation, the river closure of the Three Gorges Project will be carried out at the end of 1997. Engineering projects related to the river closure include: diversion works, temporary shiplock and shiplift, downstream approach channel for permanent shiplocks, regulation of the upstream and downstream connecting navigation channels to the diversion channel and the temporary shiplock. Progresses of all these works are summarized. Construction plans for the main rivers closure and the Stage Ⅱ diversion cofferdam are briefly presented.
