In the Long Qing reach of the upstream of Yellow River,it is planned to build 15 cascade reservoirs(hydro stations).As of February,1997,seven of them have been developed and put into operation,with the total design installed capactiy of 5 657 million kW and the total annual energy output of 23 24 billion kWh which accounts respectively 45 4% of total design developable capacity and 46 4% of the total energy output in that river reach.The combined water dispatching of cascade reservoirs(hydro stations)in the upstream of Yellow River,which takes two reservoirs of Longyangxia and Liujiaxia reservoirs as the center,has play an important role in power generation,irrigation,flood control,ice prevention,urban and industrial water supply and assisting the project construction along the Yellow River and has produced very obvious economic and social benefits.
