Since legacy device does not support plugging in and playing, we usually create NT-drivers for such devices. WDM driver is a kind of PnP driver. It also follows the power management agreement and achieved source code compatibility between Windows 98 and Windows 2000. This article deals with the developing principle and ways of realization of legacy device＇s WDM driver in the environment of Windows 2000/XP.
