摘要
图书馆信息资源数字化是图书馆现代化的重要课题之一.目前,数字图书馆中各类图像越来越多,如何更有效地存储、利用这些图像资源是数字图书馆建设的一个关键.JPEG2000是以DWT技术为基础的静态影像和视频压缩标准,非常适合数字图书馆的图像压缩应用.围绕JPEG2000标准,讨论了其优异的压缩效率及累进式传输、同一码流支持有损和无损压缩和感兴趣区域(RegionOf Interest)编码等特点,论述了其适合文献检索的理由,期望作为进一步研究的基础.
The digitization of information resources in the modern libraries is one of important topics in the library modernization. At present, there are more and more various images in digital library. How to effectively store and use these image resources in digital library is a key problem. JPEG2000 is a kind of compression standard used in static images and videos based on the discrete wavelet transform (DFT) technology. It is suitable for the digital library image compression application. Some characteristics of JPEG2000, such as outstanding compression efficiency and a progressive transfer, the same stream supporting lossless and loss compression, the region of interest coding and other features are discussed. The reasons using JPEG 2000 for document retrieval is discussed and is expected as the research basis in future.
