The Connotation of Home——The Comparison of Values on Marriage and Family Relationship between Novels of Zhang Ailing and Lin Haiyin

家庭既是女性作家关注之所在,也是最能展示其创作个性和才华的舞台。当家庭以及与之密切相关的爱情婚姻成为她们自由言说的存在时,独特的童年感受便不自觉地渗透于文本。张爱玲和林海音的小说都以"家"为聚焦,但落笔却大相异趣:张爱玲刻划了婚姻中女性的扭曲,展示着人性之卑弱;林海音诉说了婚姻中女性的压抑,赞美了人性之善良。然而,在看待人性的弱点和人生的无奈时,两人却有着同样的悲悯。

Family relationship is always the favorite topic of those female writers, through which their distinctiveness and talents could be fully displayed. When family relationship closely related with love and marriage is freely depicted in their works, the particular feelings of their own childhood are unintentionally pervaded in the text. Though both Zhang Ailing and Lin Haiyin＇s novels focus on the theme of ＂home＂, their ways of portrayal quite differs. While Zhang Ailing attaches great importance to the distorted characteristic of a woman in the marriage showing a human being＇s humbleness and weak, Lin Haiyin narrates a woman＇s constraint in the marriage, which exalts a human being＇s kindness. However, both of them show great sympathy and sadness for the human weakness and helpless in a person＇s life.
