The ORF of Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene (vgb) was cloned down stream from ORF438 promoter on pIJ702 to form pIJ702 vgb′, pFW2 was derived from pIJ702 vgb′ by deleting a DNA fragment containing ATG sequence between the ORF438 promoter and the vgb ORF, pFW201 was obtained by cloning the fusion of ORF438 promoter to vgb ORF to pIJ699. In Streptomyces lividans TK24, all of the three plasmids constructed can express Vitreoscilla hemoglobin.
