凉山彝族民间诗歌内容丰富,形式多样,在大众中有广泛的流传和影响。从类型来说,大致有"克智"、"史诗"、"哲理诗"、"抒情诗"四种。每一种诗歌都个性鲜明,富有特色,尤其长于叙事和抒情。这些民间诗歌不仅有较高的文学价值,而且为研究凉山社会、历史文化和凉山彝族思想意识等方面也提供了宝贵的参考资料。
