A Faster Visualization for Data Distribution on Outer Faces of 3D Unstructured Grid Data

摘要 根据三维非结构化网格数据的固有特点,提出了两种将其单元面按外部面和内部面分类的算法;在比较两种算法的基础上,选择基于最小(或最大)节点编号相关面的外部面集生成算法,利用Z缓存器算法实现了对数据场表面分布图的一种快速显示,与基于一般多面体隐藏面消除的表面分布图显示算法比较,具有高效、快速、易于实现等特点。 In various CAE(computer aided engineering) projects (including especially CFD or computational fluid dynamics and FEA or finite element analysis projects), we were asked by users to help them speed up their visual studies of data distribution. Out of our long experience, we developed two methods of classification of cell faces of unstructured grid into outer and inner ones in order to satisfy users′ request for higher speed. We found that the better one of the two is algorithm 2.2 based on relevant faces of minimum (or maximum) nodal number. We derived eq.(7), which we consider to be the core of our algorithm 2.2. Then we utilized the usual Zbuffer method to implement the graphic display of data distribution on outer faces. Users have found our method to be helpful in making the performance of their visualization systems to be faster.
