《骆驼祥子》译本Rickshaw Boy的翻译策略研究

本文从语言和文化两个层面对小说《骆驼祥子》译本翻译策略进行分析,认为翻译策略的选择受文本类型、翻译目的、读者审美期待等诸多因素影响。在小说英译时,采取归化策略以减少目的语读者的阅读障碍,适度的异化策略可以使译文读者了解原作的语言风格及源语文化。两种策略应当有机结合起来。

The author analyses the translating strategies in Rickshaw Boy in terms of language and culture. A translator＇s choice of strategies is determined by such factors like his purpose, text type and target reader＇s expectation, etc. When translating Chinese novels into English, assimilation can reduce the barrier in cross-cultural communication; while alienation can facilitate the target readers to learn about the style of source text as well as exotic culture. In practice, these two strategies should be integrated in order to produce a better translation.
