摘要 This assignment is to describe the status quo of English in the present world and the importance and the challenges for English language teacher to create a learner-centered, communicative, intercultural classroom to meet these challenges. In the assignment I am going to relate these challenges to my specific teaching context and discuss the strategies for effective language teaching. I will also discuss learner skills in a micro scale of speaking.
