古代奥运会就其发展规律而言,有一个由简单到成熟的过程,因而其产生的原因与发展的原因必然大为不同。其起源的原因比较原始和野蛮,发展兴盛则与古希腊城邦的民主法治及人文精神等独特历史条件分不开。古代奥运会与古希腊文明是同呼吸、共命运,其盛也盛,其衰也衰。古代奥运会衰落了,但其精神不可能衰落。古代奥运会复活了,但它是更高级形式上的复活。

Concerning its developing ride, the ancient Olympic Games had a process from simple to mature and therefore the causes of the producing and the causes of the development are inevitably quite different. The causes of the origin are comparatively primitive and barbaric and its prosperous time could not ba separated from the unique historical conditions such as democratic rides of law and its humanity spirit of the ancient Greek city. The ancient Olympic Games was related closely to the Greek civilization. The decline of the ancient Olympics did not mean the decline of its spirit. The revival of the ancient Olympics is a more advanced form of resurrection.
