Abstract Review literature (not book reviews) are tertiary sources based on synthesis and analysis of a lot of primary literature. It is a key information source to enable specialists to keep informed of developments in science and technology. The characteristics and functions, as well as types and sources of review literature are described. And bibliographic control and use of review literature are also discussed.
