Summary of the Seventh Archaeological Forum, CASS

“中国社会科学院考古学论坛”创办于2002年，是中国最新考古信息的交流平台、重大考古发现的展示舞台和最新考古进展的学术讲台，其目的和宗旨在于促进学术交流，加强考古成果的宣传，深化考古研究，推动新世纪中国考古事业的繁荣与发展，为中国的文物考古事业服务。

To exhibit the major achievements in field excavations and studies of Chinese archaeology in the year of 2007, further academic exchanges and push forward the development and prosperity of＂ the antiquarian and archaeological cause and the protection of large-sized sites and cultural heritage in China, ＂＂The Seven Archaeological Forum, CASS＂ was held in Beijing on 17 to 18 January 2008. The conference was centered on two academic themes. At the ＂Lecture of Chinese Archaeological Discoveries in 2007,＂ the speakers gave accounts of six major archaeological discoveries in the country. At the ＂Lecture of Archaeology and the Protection of Cultural Heritage,＂ scholars carried out exchanges and discussions on the theories, concepts, methods and techniques relevant to the subject.
