In The Scholars Kuang Chao-ren and Mr Ma Er＇s encounter is not a coincidence , but a play that author designed to show Mr Ma Er＇ s ＂ given ＂ and Kuang Chao-ren＇s ＂ accession ＂ . Kuang Chaoren＇ s motivation is that he hoped Mr Ma Er could give directions and sympathy for him. When Kuang Chao-ren was in adversity, his advocating about the consciousness of filial piety was only a show made to obtain riches and honor. His ending of settling down was an extension of losing the significance of existence after his show of human nature failed.
