英国作家安吉拉·卡特认为童话是男权社会教育、驯化儿童,尤其是麻木女性思想的工具之一。其作品揭露了男权话语霸权,成为上世纪英国开创利用经典童话批判男权思想的先驱之一。卡特成功地对经典童话进行了改写、戏拟和仿作,从而达到颠覆,消解男权话语霸权目的。她或是揭露童话的伪善欺骗性,或是把扭曲的女性还原到本来面目,以张扬女性意识。

Angela Carter is one of the forerunners who thought fairy tales are the tools for taming children especially women in Patriarchal society , which typically reflects the dominion of men ＇ s will to power. Carter rewrote classic fairy tales to deconstruct and subvert men＇ s dominating power of discourse. She aims at disclosing fairy tales ＇ deception to women and trying to depict new images of females in the new age.
