Breeding and Application of Late Two-line Hybrid Rice Y Liangyou 599 with High Yield and Good Quality

Y两优599是湖南农业大学水稻科学研究所用光温敏核不育系Y58S为母本,与新育成的高产优质香型晚稻品系599配组育成的两系杂交晚稻新组合。该组合株叶形态好,分蘖力强,成穗率高,生育期适宜,高产稳产性好,米质优良,2008年3月通过湖南省农作物品种审定委员会审定。

Y Liangyou 599 is a new late hybrid rice combination derived from the cross of Y 58S, a PTGMS line with low critical sterility-inducing temperature and good grain quality, and R599 , a newly-developed high-yielding and fine quality late rice line . It is of good plant type, high and stable yield, and fine grain quality. It was registered and released to commercial production in Hunan Province in March, 2008. The applying techniques of its cultural management and hybrid seed production were briefly introduced in this paper.
