The long-awaited 29th Olympic Games will be unveiled on August 8, 2008 in China. Today China, radiating with ancient mystical charm and modern vitality, has entered the stage of the comprehensive transformation of social culture.
Hosting the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games is of historic significance for China. In his presentation to the IOC on behalf of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bidding Committee （BOBICO） seven years ago, Mr He Zhenliang, an incumbent member of the IOC and Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Olympic Committee, said that hosting the Olympic Games in Beijing will make history, foster friendship between China and the rest of the world and ultimately benefit the mankind as a whole.
