威廉·福克纳是20世纪美国杰出的小说家。他的短篇《干燥的九月》触及到性和暴力的关系这个主题,揭露了种族歧视的罪恶,探索了人物的内心世界。本文试图通过分析背景描写对人物心理表现的影响,让读者更清晰地了解作品中人物的心理特征,从而更好地欣赏作家的作品。
William Faulkner is an outstanding American novelist in the 20th century. His short story Dry September touches upon the strange relationship between sex and violence, exposes the crimes of racial discrimination, and explores psychological state of the main characters. This paper attempts to analyze the impact of setting description on psychological state of the characters to offer a clear understanding of their psychological characteristics, so that the reader can appreciate his works better .
