This article introduces the modification of glitch switch in the SS8 electric locomotives adapted to single-operator on duty requirement. Under the current SS8 electric locomotives electrical control logic, this modification can conveniently implement the glitch switch operation abreast of other operation, and allow single-operator on duty to make judgment and decision timely and accurately when electrical malfunction happens. Meanwhile, it can be considered as an example for other similar type locomotives modification.
