目前,语法分析中存在着介词与副词之间分类不清、功能不明的问题,还存在着介词与从属连词的归类之争。Hudd leston的介词主导理论,压缩副词,并将传统的从属连词全部归入介词,扩大介词,凸显介词的主导地位,达到了句法结构更清晰、功能分析更一致、语法教学更便捷的目的,为当代语法研究作出了贡献,必将对我国的英语语法体系产生深远的影响。

At present ,in grammar analysis there is the problem of the confusion of classification and function between prepositions and adverbs and also the problem of the classification between prepositions and subordinate conjunctions. Huddleston＇ s theory of prepositions as heads cuts down on adverbs and classifies subordinate conjunctions into prepositions, which expands prepositions and highlights prepositions as heads. It makes great contribution to the research of the contemporary English grammar, and will have great influence on the system of English grammar in China.
