Constructivist learning theory has been a good reference to teachers of English in working. The theory focuses on the students＇ position as learning subjects and teachers＇ guidance, and emphasis on the real situation of studying environment, cooperative learning and individual construction of meaning during studying course. The teaching methods guided by the theory （scaffolding instruction, anchored instruction, and random assess instruction）are working as good guides to English teaching.
