毛泽东思想是马克思主义中国化的理论成果。在毛泽东思想指引下,取得了新民主主义革命的胜利,确立了社会主义制度,为当代中国一切发展进步奠定了根本政治前提和制度基础。毛泽东思想是中国特色社会主义理论体系的理论来源。中国特色社会主义理论体系是继承和发展了毛泽东思想中关于实事求是思想路线和社会主义建设理论成果以及党建理论,结合当代中国实际而形成的。

Mao Zedong thoughts is the theoretical result of Marxist sinification. Under its guidance, the new-democratic revolution was achieved and socialist system was established, providing the fundamental political prerequisite and institutional basis for the further development of modern China. Theoretically, it is the source of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics which forms on inheriting and developing the ideological line of seeking truth from facts,the theoretical results about the building of socialism and the theory of Party building, all of which are embodied in Mao Zedong thoughts,and by taking Chinese factual condition into consideration.
