On Monday, July 21st, during the 18 day countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games, the Olympic ＂Holy Fire,＂ originating from the relic site of Olympia in Athens and thus symbolizing peace, friendship, hope and brightness, came to Qingdao-China＇s Sailing City. Through the continuous relay of the 259 torchbearers （selected from among the eight million Qingdao citizens）, the Holy Fire completed its first station in Shandong Province.
